Grassroots Coordinator

Are you the type of person who read, “How to Win Friends and Influence People” and then said to yourself, “Well, duh?” Are you energized in a crowded room because you recognize it as an opportunity to create new friends? Have you ever given a cheerleader a pep talk? Have you ever experienced cramps in your hand from writing thank you notes? Do you have an interest in advancing public policy by combining your love of people with your love of liberty and democracy?

Eternal Vigilance Action Inc. (EVA), a 501(c)(4) nonprofit, is looking to hire a highly energetic, meticulously organized, self-starter to join our team as a Grassroots Coordinator. Our board of directors are a group of activists, scholars, and former elected officials who share a common mission to advocate for policies which maximize the American Promise of Liberty and Justice for All.

The Grassroots Coordinator will be responsible for networking with over 70 groups we have identified who are either working on or interested in legislation in our areas of interest with a heavy focus on election reform. Our goal is to expand our grassroots reach by leveraging existing organizations.

Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate relationships with current, potential, and past partners to generate buzz about EVA’s Mission.
  • Develop coalitions with other organizations to amplify messages
  • Recruit, train and coordinate volunteers, through various methods (phone calls, emails, meetings), to participate in legislative advocacy, including testifying in front of legislators and providing written testimony.
  • Develop a network of volunteers who will be trained on grassroots lobbying and legislative advocacy.
  • Maintain an accurate database of volunteer contact information and skillsets.
  • Work with the Executive Director to identify opportunities for grassroots advocacy efforts at the state level.
  • Travel to communities throughout Georgia to host meetings, seminars, lead group discussions, etc.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned

Requirements:

  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to work with people from a variety of backgrounds including a wide spectrum of political ideologies.
  • Ability to build relationships and then inspire and influence others.
  • Strong understanding of the state legislative process.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Exemplary writing skills

Exceptional Candidates Will Have Experience in any of the following

  • Past involvement in political campaigns
  • Positive existing relationships with members of the Georgia General Assembly

Schedule: Full Time/Remote

Location: Georgia

Experience Level: Entry

Salary Range: $35,000 to $50,000 Annually depending on experience

Travel: up to 75%
